Zakynthos (Zante) - King of the Ionian Sea
Zakynthos is one of the largest islands
in the southern part of the Ionian Sea. Thanks to its ideal location,
the island can be reached by direct flights from any European airport
or by car-ferry from Italy, on the mainland. A mild Mediterranean
climate predominates on the island, which means visitors can take
holidays throughout the year. Thanks to this wonderful climate, olive
trees grow under ideal conditions, as they need lots of sun and cannot
withstand large temperature fluctuations. This unique, lush vegetation,
which also gave the island the name "Flower of the East or Flor
di Levante", is derived from the choice olive oil "The
Gold of Zante".
